Taipei acts effectively in combating new coronavirus
Amid the growing number of confirmed cases of coronavirus infections globally, Taipei has been effective in curbing the outbreak by moving swiftly to deploy the necessary actions that ensure public health and safety. As of in Monday Mar 2, the COVID-19 outbreak has resulted in a total of 89,069 confirmed cases reported worldwide. As of writing, a total of 41 confirmed cases were reported in Taiwan, with 1 case deceased, 5 cases fully recovered, and the remaining in a stable condition and on the way to recovery. There have been no community-acquired cases, nor any new confirmed case since Mar 2. Moreover, one of the confirmed cases has already fully recovered, with the rest on the way to recovery and are in stable conditions. The risk of infection to international travelers within Taiwan is considered low to minimal. ** World Health Organization states that the latest number of total confirmed cases of novel coronavirus infection in China, including Hong Kong (98) and Macau (10), is 80,026, followed by two cruise ship currently in international conveyance (702), Singapore (106), Thailand (42), Republic of Korea (4212), Japan (257), Malaysia (29), Taiwan (41), Germany (130), Australia (28), Vietnam (16), United States of American (89), and France (130), Iran (978), UK (36), Italy(1,713) and Canada (20).
