Theming your events Taiwanese style, MICE bouncing back in Taipei!
The MICE community in Taipei has been working hard on planning how to provide Covid19 secure event services once the borders will open for MICE event participants.
As event management companies they realize that it is all about the people, the experience and the fun. All Taipei’s EMCs take great delight in being the bespoke event planning company that brings together all the strands of clients’ dreams and design ideas into one beautiful parcel.
They all have fantastic teams who shoulders the great responsibility of planning spectaculars that showcase the best of absolutely everything – the location, the food and the activities, and all the little personal bits that really make things special. When corporations plan team-building activities in Taipei, popular choices include Taiwanese glove puppetry (budaixi) and dominoes, which can be fun challenges that strengthen a team's bond. Besides, Taipei City Government is now promoting the city as a museum without walls, with living museums based on five traditional districts of the city, such as Beitou, Dadaocheng, Banka, North Town, South Town and three modern areas such as Taipei Performing Arts Center, Taipei Music Center and Songshan Culture and Creative Park.. It is hoped that visitors can literally and figuratively get a taste of different cultures from among the districts and explore the undiscovered beauty hidden in Taipei City.
Although there has been a tremendous decrease in the number of foreign business travelers, Taipei City can still boast flexibility, openness, distinguishing scenic views, and a unique treasure trove of culture and festivities. On August 29, Dadaocheng Valentine’s Day diaplayed an eight-minute “Ai Ni Ai Ni” (“Love You, Love You”) fireworks that lit up the night sky in Taipei. There were approximately eighty-thousand people in attendance.
As an experienced business incentive travel planner, Mr. Jason Yeh, CEO of Taiwanlook, says:
“Our culturally-aware programs create memories of Taipei that last and results that deliver. From corporate conference management, event planning, theme parties and team-building activities to taking care of all your logistical arrangements, we do the work, you have the fun!”
Some of the product components to enhance conference and/or incentive programs in Taipei are
Visit the National Palace Museum, the world’s finest treasure chest of classical Chinese art
Enjoy a Taipei Tea party and a cable car ride to Makong mountain
Enjoy dinner with a bird’s eye view of the city atop the 89th floor of Taipei 101
Treat yourself naturally at one of many hot springs surrounding Taipei
Discover why Taipei is rated as a top food destination where small eats are the big thing
Experience the huge array of items and services at Taipei’s famous department stores
Mr. Walter Yeh, Congress Ambassador of Taipei City and President & CEO at Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) concludes:
“Tai
pei
’s experienced Destination Management Companies all enhance the local flair and industry best practices to create customized, safe solutions for M.I.C.E. events and have re-created original corporate events to inspire attendees, build business relationships and celebrate achievements while abiding Covid-19 Secure routines”.
The pandemic has impacted so many people personally, and professionally. It’s been staggering to see the amount of change the world has taken on in such a short space of time, but the Event Management stakeholders in Taipei remain hopeful and positive going forward – for them it is all about bringing people together, and long may that continue in whatever fashion that may be ……….
They have been focused on keeping themselves busy, volunteering their time, augmenting skills & equipment where needed & creating new ways to work and remaining open for business. One of these key focuses has been enabling events in a socially-distanced world and they look forward to opportunities to put this into practice.

The 2020 Dadaocheng Valentine’s Day “Ai Ni Ai Ni” (“Love You, Love You”) fireworks show, burst into bloom in a blaze of glory in Dadaocheng’s Yanping Riverside Park. The exhilarating pyrotechnic display, which lasted 480 thrilling seconds, created such visuals as the number “2020,” words of love, colorful flowers, and more, brilliantly lighting up the Taipei night sky!
See-Join Puppet Theater Restaurant is the first glove puppetry cultural-creative restaurant in Taiwan. (Source: See-Join Puppet Theater Restaurant)
Taiwanese glove puppetry, or budaixi, is one of the most representative forms of traditional Taiwanese culture, and the See-Join Puppet Theater Restaurant is the first glove puppetry cultural-creative restaurant in Taiwan. Incorporating performance features of great originality, “interaction, surprise, laughter, experience,” the troupe presents the “Taiwan Budaixi Feast,” using three different types of puppets: palm, Golden Light, and TV. Performances are in Taiwanese, Mandarin Chinese, and English (depending on the play). The stereotype people have of budaixi is transformed, and Taiwanese traditional art is brought closer to people.
